Are you a tech support expert looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity to make a difference in the lives of older people? Upstart Ventures is incubating a new social enterprise providing in-home and remote tech consultation, support and training to customers who are 65+. We are looking for people who have strong technical support skills both in-home and remote, who are patient and empathetic and are passionate about providing superior customer service to help us develop a pilot service.
This is a part/time position that requires some flexibility in schedule for the pilot. Approximately 10-20 hours/week during the pilot. Some remote work possible
Full Time only candidates should not respond.
This position Is ideal for caregivers, military spouses, veterans, retirees looking for supplemental income and people looking to re-integrate into the workforce.
As part of our team launching our pilot, you will serve as a consultant, tech support and trainer to our clients both in home and remotely.
You provide customers with the comfort to know that technology can keep them safe, secure and engaged at home. You will be responsible for assessing clients’ current technology situation and making recommendations about products & services that meet their needs. You will set up and troubleshoot technology products in customers’ homes as well as provide expert product advice.
You will explain products & services with patience and empathy and train customers on new products, services & apps that will give them the freedom and flexibility to age in place. You are always identifying opportunities to delight customers by going above and beyond the initial customer requests.

Passion for customer support and ability to adapt to different environments.
Strong people skills and a talent for problem solving.
At least 2 years of experience in a Service Desk / IT support environment.
Strong aptitude for consumer technology and experience with supporting multiple platforms of mobile devices.
Ability to communicate clearly and patiently to older people in person and remotely.
Ability to teach customers new skills patiently and effectively.
Patience with dealing with customers that are slower to learn new technologies
Comfortable working in homes of customers
You must have a curious mind and a desire to learn new technology as the role will support a variety of products.
Experience working with 65+ a plus.
Trained in Apple products, software, apps & services a plus.
