Upstart Ventures' Liz Hamburg wins Stevie® Award in 8th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business
NEW YORK, NY - November 12, 2011 — Liz Hamburg of Upstart Ventures won a Stevie Award for best mentor/coach in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run — worldwide. The awards are one of four Stevie Awards programs, which have been hailed as the world's premier business awards.
In winning the Stevie, Liz Hamburg beat out other finalists from companies including Accenture and International Association of Women in Business Coaching.
Liz has been involved with mentoring entrepreneurs both personally and professionally for over a decade through her work at Upstart Ventures, and her non-profit work as former Chair of the Advisory Board of the Brown University Entrepreneurship Program, current Chair of the New York board of the Women's Initiative for Self Employment, the largest micro-enterprise training organization helping low income women start and grow their businesses and member of the New York advisory board of Astia, an organization committed to building women leaders and accelerating the funding and growth of women-led startups.

More than 1,300 entries — a record for the competition - were submitted this year for consideration in 75 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year.
